How your biometrics are protected
Your face or hand photo is never stored. It is turned into a short list of
numbers (a template), scrambled with a secret code, and encrypted. The
scrambled version can't be turned back into your face, and it only works
here — a stolen copy is useless anywhere else.
If a leak is ever suspected, the organisation presses one button to
re-scramble everything: old copies stop working instantly, like a
password reset, and you don't have to enrol again.
See the Trust Center for the full
security story and this system's measured accuracy numbers.
